A haunting story of the consequences of ethnic cleansing and genocide, which you never could have written if you didn't actually go there.

Thank you for giving the Sahrawi a smidgeon of the recognition they deserve.

Thanks, Ohio. The entire time I was there, I kept expecting something to shift. That the stillness might lift in a different camp. But every one of them felt the same.

What changed was the people. The energy carried by individuals. There was something there that went beyond resilience. You could feel it, from within.

More stories coming.

I concur with the comment below. I appreciate your presence, witness, your exquisite prose. To convey in words the stillness you encountered bespeaks not just skillful but soulful prose.

Thank you. That means more than you probably realise.

The stillness stayed with me long after I left, and I’m just trying to honour what was there as truthfully as I can.

Thank you Howard. It means a lot to know the work is landing with you.

It surly is. I try sharing it with the relatively few people I know who might appreciate and/or connect with it.

Appreciate that. More for the Sahrawis than for me. There is a real chance powers will try to push through permanent occupation by Morocco especially with all that’s happening in the world. We need to make as much noise and raise as much awareness as possible.
